More Help

Hello all,
Praise God
I pray that things are going well in your walk with the Lord. We had another good week in the sandwich ministry. It is tough to top the good news we had last time we with John John coming to faith in Christ. But God is still moving way ahead of us. We are just trying to be obedient to his will in our lives and in this ministry.

We had a lot more new people involved this week. I had the pleasure of having my Mom and my Grandma visit from up in Illinois. They were an excellent support crew. Cameron, my mom, my grandma and I put the lunches together. We made 48 lunches total. Then I went out and met up with Ron and Greg who were going to go with me to the study and hand out the lunches. It was the first time for both of them.

Our first stop was the block where we do the bible study. We had a larger turn out this week, with people waiting for us to get there with lunch and the word. I always wonder if they are just for the lunch but I was really overwhelmed by how they really want the word. We handed out the sandwiches first and everybody stayed for the study, and nobody even started to eat until the study was finished. We had another very lively discussion. A lot of these folks in the study have strong faith but struggle with trying to live the life.

My prayer request for this week in addition to just praying for the preparation and delivery of the lunches is to pray for me to know how to direct the study of the group. My prayer is that we study something that will really speak to their heart, bring about life change, and equip them as Disciples of Christ. A tall order I know, but if it is truly God’s will He will deliver in His time. I pray that we are in His will, obedient and patient.

On another front it was been a big week of growth administratively. We opened a bank account solely for the sandwich ministry. It is totally separate of my personal accounts. It came about out of necessity. Very generous people have started to send checks through the mail and I have had the privilege of being on the receiving end of “Money handshakes.” I thought those only happened in the movies.

We go out again tomorrow May 4 at 12:00. We did not see John John last week at the study, so pray that we will see him tomorrow. I don’t know what God will do with it this week but I can’t wait to see. Thank you for your continued pray support. For His glory, Mitch
