Planting Seeds

Hello again,
Praise God, we had another fantastic week in the sandwich ministry. We were able to purchase a case of bibles. They are being shipped as I speak. They should arrive on Tuesday May 16. Which means we will have them in time for this coming Thursday May 18.

This week, my mother in law was in town and she assisted Cameron and I in the production of the sandwiches and lunches. I then met up with Greg who was able once again to go out with me. I am really amazed by how God is moving in this ministry and really getting a whole variety of people involved in one way or another. It is really encouraging as I think about how God is providing everything on every level for this ministry. We went out with 40 sandwich bags this week and because of overcast Storm threatening weather, there were not as many people out and around. But God is Good and so much bigger than any of us can imagine. This “inconvenience” was a true blessing because we got to go to parts of the neighborhood that we had not been to before and meet people we had not met before. We finished up where we normally have the study. This is once again where it got really overwhelming. We drive down the block and see a bunch of people and we were like wow this is great. But to our surprise the majority of the people were younger (20’s) playing dominos. I can’t tell you how encouraged I was at this. These were people I know I have seen before but had turned us down but on this day they really accepted us. There were not really any of our regular bible study participants around so we did not end up doing the study but I think on this day God wanted us to build a bridge to these younger people. We talked for a little while and told them we would be back next week. They wished us well and said they looked forward to seeing us again. I can’t tell you how excited I was driving home that day. I suppose nothing big outwardly happened but God really laid it on my heart that he was using us to really work in some people that day. On this day we were planting seeds. I want to ask you to pray for these seeds as well as more seeds that we may plant in the weeks to come. I pray that God will use us however he wishes to further his kingdom. Thanks for your continued pray and support. Please feel free to pass this blog along to anyone you think might be encouraged by it or would pray for us. For His glory, Mitch
