Thank you Andy Hirko

Hello all and Praise God, I made it back to sunny Florida. My trip was wonderful. Andy Hirko did the sandwiches this past week and he forwarded me what happen below. Enjoy.
From Andy: I had a great time on Thursday. One of the college students (Nate Edwards) came with me and we started passing out sandwiches.  Wendy’s gave us 40 sandwiches.  We prayed.  We started at the store and no one was really there except for one guy on a bike.  We talked with him for awhile and gave him a Bible. He said that he didn’t have one.  Then we went down St. Johns Ave. a place that we have gone to before.  There was a lot of people there and we passed out 20 sandwiches there.  We then went over to Dorothy’s house (across from the burned down house).  We gave sandwiches to here and her family and we prayed with her.  It was really good.  Then they took us to Margareet’s house (the house we tried to find before) and we gave her a sandwich and we told her that we would come back as much as we could. At that point I realized that we only had 8 sandwiches left for the Bible Study…I was getting nervous but when we got to the Bible Study only John John and Jerome were there.  Jerome said that since it was the 3rd of the month everyone scatters because bills are due, rent money is due, social security checks come in, etc.  So we left the sandwiches for the people and prayed a great prayer with John John and Jerome and then we went home.  It was a great day!!
Thank You Andy Hirko.

I want to thank everyone for their continued prayer support. I have recently become keenly aware of how important prayer is. This ministry is on the verge of growing in many ways. God has opened many doors, and behind them all is the opportunity to really step out and serve the Lord. But as Mark 10:29-30 says:

29“I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.

The key word that we find in this is persecutions. The stakes are high and the payoff is even bigger (furthering God’s kingdom) but it is not without persecutions. That is why I continually ask for your prayers. Prayer is our weapon to combat the persecutions. This ministry would not go on if it were not for the prayers from all of you. If you read this blog back from the beginning, you can see that it was through prayer that it was even able to start. And it is through your prayer that, if it is God’s Will, will grow beyond of St. Augustine and further the kingdom of God throughout the nation and perhaps the world. I am willing to go as far as God wants me to go. That was very difficult for me to write but, I know that if it is God’s Will, then anything is possible. I thank you and ask for your prayer and support. May God make this ministry an encouragement and a blessing in your life. I love you all. For His Glory, Mitch

August 11th, 2006 at 12:45 pm Mitch: It is truly remarkable the way God is using you and your family as a blessing to others, but He could not have chosen a better family. Your big open, warm, and inviting hearts will take you to great heights for His Glory! It was no coincidence when He made us neighbors. You were a blessing to me then and He continues to bless our friendship from a distance. I am happy to call you friends. Keep up the GREAT MINISTRY and may the Almighty continue to bless you richly!
