Roots and Wings

Hello, Praise God. Sorry for the late blog post. God is moving so fast, I feel I am constantly scurrying to catch up with Him. On Wednesday, Pat Higgins and a group of students went out and handed out sandwiches that were prepared by a small group and they prayed with several folks. On Thursday, I went out with a handful of “Sandwich Rookies” (we’re all Sandwich Rookies at sometime) and we were all really blessed by the experience. It was unusual that we were unable to have a study, our regular attenders were not around. God had other plans for us this day, he had us really reaching out and getting back to our roots of one on one ministry.  We handed out sandwiches, drove around and talked to people, and prayed with people. I know these Rookies will be back as “Sandwich Veterans.” Serving the Lord is addictive, it just makes you want to do it more and more.

It really speaks to my heart on how God has molded this ministry to really reach out and involve so many people. He has groups of people preparing sandwiches, He has other groups delivering sandwiches, He has people receiving the sandwiches and telling their friends about it. It really is tough to tell what the real reach and impact that this ministry has in this community but God knows, and that is all that matters.

I think it is so wonderful that He is involving people of different age groups, different races, different church homes as well as giving a place for people without church homes. He is creating true biblical community where none had exsisted previously. He is using His Light of Love to draw His lost children. He is loving His children, by using His children. He has really stirred it in our hearts to share what He is doing here with everyone, through this blog and inspire you to try this out in your neighborhood.

Thank you for your prayers. I ask that you pray for that the financial support be provided so that this growth can be supported. Most importantly, pray that we keep our focus on the Lord, are obedient to His Will and with a joyful heart do the work that He sets before us. Let us be joyful givers, no matter if that giving is done through our time, our talent or our treasure. For His Glory, Mitch
