What is this, some kind of Sandwich festival?

Praise God for He is Good all the time. I want to start by telling that Jenn is doing very well. She has been a little sore, but she is now in good spirits. We still have no word, good or bad on Sabrina. Thank you so much for all your concern in both these areas, it is very much appreciated. It is a little weird to see our car now. What really grips us is the non-damage of the car itself. After seeing it in the context of where it came to rest in that ditch right up against that concrete barrier, it was difficult to not see how terrible and life ending this accident could have been. And then to see it now, just muddy with a headlight knocked out still standing on 4 inflated tires. You get a very overwhelming feeling of how much God loves you and how He protects you everyday, all the time, in all that you do. Emotionally, physically. Take some time today and just thank God for the non-damage in your life. And know that He loves you all the time, more than you can ever imagine. You might be in the ditch or like we are now trying to figure out if there is internal engine damage, or you might be driving along the road thinking you don’t need any help from above. No matter where you are at God loves you and if you just take time to stop and look around your life, you will see the things that God has blessed you with in your life.
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Wednesday was quite a day. It started out by me getting a phone call from Jenn sitting in a ditch. Then, mere hours later I was out with Pat, Jesse, Josh and Eric handing out sandwiches. God is good all the time. God may have put it on my heart to start handing out sandwiches, but since the point where God stirred it in these guys to get involved, He has taken it to a whole new level. When I went with them, I can’t quite put it into words, it was almost like a festival. They are handing out sandwiches, clothes, praying with people, they brought guitars and were singing worships songs, hugging, joking around with everyone, just loving people. Even at one point they started going house to house, just to find more people to love. I was completely blown away. You would think that Pat and the crew knew these people for years, but it has really been just a few weeks. Their love of the Lord has broken down any obsticles that may have been there and now look at the fruit of His love. Amazing.

So Thursday, I was a little intimidated to have to follow up Wednesday. But I really should not have been and if doing these sandwiches has taught me anything is that if God is in it and He is with you then, you just go and be obedient and let Him work. I had Christina, (a new sandwich veteran fresh off of last week) Andy Hirko, Mike and Chris with me. We got to our study and a man that I met when we first started doing sandwiches was there. I used to refer to him as the bible heckler, he knew the word and was drunk and just spouting off about whatever opinion he might have. Well it has been a while since I have seen him. But there is something very different about him this time. He has this Peace about him. I also noticed he wasn’t drunk this time. He seemed happier then I had ever seen him. And when we did the study he was really adding to it, really concerned that other people understand what a certain passage was saying. You really could see the love just in his eyes and the way that he talked. It is quite a life change that is taking place in this man. So I ask that you pray for him and see him as an example, that God can use anyone and turn anyone around.

Sandwich demand is growing. I was really amazed that between the 2 day we brought around 100 lunches and I noticed on both days that it was not close to enough. So that being said, I put it to you. If you believe in this ministry, and believe that God is working through this and creating positive change, I ask for your support, whether it is financially or you want to make sandwiches or buy supplies, all of it is appreciated, needed and will be used for the furthering of the kingdom of God. We need you. Thank you for your continued prayer. For His Glory, Mitch
