Hats off to Pat and heart God gave him

Hello All praise God this week. He blessed us with the opportunity to be a blessing 3 times this past week. Pat and his crew went out on Wednesday. Me and my crew went out on Thursday. Then on Saturday, Pat headed up a barbeque. My family and I were fortunate to be able to go. I really want to thank Pat for all his effort in putting this together. It really was a great success. It showed the folks in West Augustine that we love them all the time not just on Wednesday or Thursday. By my estimates and rough head counting, I figure there were close to 50 people that stopped and had lunch and prayed with us. It was quite the social event. There were lots of kids out playing (including my two) we were throwing the football around, playing cards, eating some delicious chicken. I think Pat said we went through 30 pounds of chicken not to mention the hotdogs, corn, beans, sweet tea. We even had some folks from the neighborhood bring food to share with everyone. God is really opening up a door here. It is no longer just a bunch of white kids coming to hand out sandwiches to the poor folks. It has become God’s children gathering together breaking bread and sharing life together. God created this light and is using it to draw other people out of darkness to come and join together to see His love on a powerful personal level and find out what living in the light is all about.

This Saturday was such a success that it has really inspired me to do something special the day before thanksgiving (Wednesday) I have really been praying about this because God had put it on my heart to do something special for Thanksgiving. He has pushed me this way because through asking around it does not sound like many folks will be around in the neighborhood on Thanksgiving day (Thursday) so We will have our big event Wednesday. I want to do something very similar to what Pat put together on Saturday. I am thinking about maybe frying some turkeys and bringing other sides and having a Thanksgiving right on the street Charlie Brown style. So I want to invite anyone that is going to be here locally Wednesday Nov. 22 around Noon to come out bring a dish and let us give thanks together as one big family of God’s children. I am open to any advice, pointer, equiptment or anything else people would like to give me for this event. (I have never fried a Turkey before, even though I have always wanted to,) So I am looking for someone with expeience/equiptment for the job.

Thank you for your prayers and continue to pray for this ministry especially for this upcoming Thanksgiving. We are still going to go out on Thursday, thanksgiving day as well, but in a little smaller scale just to make sure that everyone has something to eat that day. Thank you all, For His Glory, Mitch
