Hello all, Praise God for He is good all the time. It’s funny as I sit and write I would think that there would come a time when this all became pretty routine. But it always seems like God has a way of overwhelming us. Something new or different or something that I never would have thought of in a million years. Well that thing this week happened to be on Wednesday. I happened to be near the neighborhood and had some time (which is unusual) so I decided to stop in and see Pat and his crew at work and give them a helping hand. As I am pulling up I see Pat and his crew heading into a house of two older ladies that we see each week. So I head up to the door to join them and just then Pat pokes his head out and see me and says “Hey wow, what are you doing here, you have to see this.” I head in to see that the ladies had gotten up early and had been cooking all day. There was from scratch fried chicken, greens, pasta, drinks and dessert. All for us. They had decided to make us lunch for a change. I can’t remember a time when a meal tasted so good. I also can’t remember just sitting and visiting and just enjoying the company and surroundings so much. Each week doing this ministry brings great joy to us. But Wednesday was special. People we have been serving wanted to serve us back. It was such a beautiful thing. My eyes start to well up every time that I start to think of it. If that was not enough, after we finished we went back out and had prayer with a bunch of people out in the street. There were a lot of regulars but really there were so many new faces. And most of those new faces were the faces of younger, tougher men, that you would never think you would see in some prayer circle. Praise God, He is Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and through Him all things are possible. Never doubt Him for a second and never stop praying for someone that you think “couldn’t possible change” because I am here to tell you, Yes, all things are possible.
In continuing this same theme. We went out on Thursday, and what I noticed most about a lot of the folks that I saw is that usually they have kind of a dazed look in their eye that you don’t get from sobriety. What I saw instead was clarity in their eyes and a sharpness and a hunger that I don’t think that I had ever noticed before. We had a very good discussion of . Which is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. I encourage you to click the link and read through it. It is cool to see how making the right decsion can really look pretty bleak and that your situation may get worse before it gets better, but if you stick with it, in the end God goes over and above what you thought of or even asked for. I ask you to pray for all these people, they are in the middle of trying to make right choices and their situations are getting worse before they are getting better. Pray for them that they stick it out and trust in the Lord to lead them through. I thank you for reading this and for your prayers. We need it. God is moving in this and I thank you for all your support. May God bless you in your right choices. For His Glory, Mitch
