Blessings on a dreary day

Hello all, Praise God, He is bigger than we ever imagine Him to be. This week itself and the week coming up are big weeks. This coming week we have Thanksgiving. And what the Sandwich Mission is doing is having a big Charlie Brown style Thanksgiving on Wednesday around 12:00 right out in the street, having fellowship and potluck. I ask that you please pray for this event. That God will use our efforts to the full and that we just gather in His name and give Thanks for all He has given and blessed us with. Let it be a time of reflection of Thanks and celebration. Truly God showing His love for His children.

Well that is next week, so what happened this week? On Wednesday, Pat had a full crew and a lot of lunches to hand out. They were spreading the word and praying and letting people know about the Thanksgiving that is going to happen on Wednesday. Only God knows their full depth and reach into this community, it is amazing. On Thursday, it was cold a rainy (72 well cold for here anyway) But about the time we had the bible study the rain stopped, but it was still pretty gray. It was quite the backdrop for what was about to happen. We had gathered up to pray and have study and there were a few new faces as well as a few newly sober ones. We started with Revelation 22: 17-21

17The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

20He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

21The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

We were mainly focusing on that Jesus in His last words that He is leaving with us in His book. He asks us to Come. He tells us that He IS coming and asks us to come. As we are discussing this, A woman comes up slowly and joins in the group. She moves around the group for a little bit then finally settles in and then after a few minutes she begins to speak. At first very softly and then as she gained confidence she grew louder. She began to testify about herself and that she has done many wrongs in her life and that she is a alcoholic and that Jesus is that only way that she can find anyway out. She says that she is laying all shame aside and that she is confessing it and laying it before the Lord. She said that she heard us down the block and that something in her urged her to “Come” and listen. At the end we all gathered together to pray and we lifted Anna up as well as all our struggles and although we were not as bold as Anna, we wanted to lay down our struggles before the Lord and trust Him to guide us to right choices and give us the strength that we will need to battle the struggles in our lives. After Anna, came and Hugged me so tight I can’t remember when I have been hugged so tight. She was whispering prying into my ear, Thanking God repeatedly for bringing her there. And thanking Him that He is with her. I was so overwhelmed I didn’t know what to say I just kept thinking and praying in my head “Thank you God for using me and bringing me right here, right now.”  I have no other words. Sometimes serving the Lord is hard and there are a lot of things that get in the way and some days are like yesterday. And wouldn’t you know it as we were leaving, the clouds started to break up and the sun started to come out and made a beautiful Florida afternoon full of sunshine and not a cloud in the sky.

Thank you for praying for this ministry and supporting us. Life change is happening and God is moving here through us. Thank you and continue to support and pray for us. We need the support in both ways through prayer and financially. The ministry can’t run without it. Thank you again, For His Glory, Mitch
